My Future's so bright...

In my life I can honestly say that there haven't been very many things that I felt that I couldn't accomplish if I set my mind to it.  I guess much of this confidence can be attributed to an awesome support system, my family.  I firmly believe that we continue learning as we get older and we never stop learning.  As time passes, we gain new insight and intellect from personal experiences within our homes, schools, jobs, churches, and other places in which we are members.

I can remember wanting to earn my Master's degree and here I am so very close to my goal.  I cannot believe how fast time passes and everything that I have learned.  I feel that I have grown as a professional, as well as an individual.  I have learned how to use many types of technologies that I otherwise would not have.  I am able to put all of this information to use in my personal and professional life.  Now that the end of my formal schooling for my Master's is fast approaching I am left wondering what my next step will be.  Although I plan on continuing my formal schooling at some point in the future, I am contemplating where exactly I will go from here.  Eventually I want to become either a reading specialist or a college professor.  What will be the path I take?  I know that I will continue learning and growing as a person outside of formal education, but I surely am excited for the future as a student as well.

I am a firm believer that the only "stupid" question is the one that is not asked.  Therefore, I have asked and will continue to ask questions that will help me in my personal and professional life, to become the best person and teacher I can be.

Many times throughout my journey in formal schooling there were things that I have not quite understood.  Even now, in my current profession I find that I have a wealth of technology that is available to me and many times I am not familiar with the technology.  I never hesitate to ask for help.  Surely someone knows the answer and eventually I will too.  That being said, I also understand what if feels like to be confused and nervous about learning new things.  I feel that this helps me better relate to my current and future students.  I am able to understand where they are coming from when learning is new or difficult.  Therefore, I can offer advice as well as support and understanding when it comes to their education.

As I stated before, I am not exactly certain what the future holds for me, but I know this much... I am a life-long learner and I look forward to learning, growing, and developing into the very best person I can be.
